London, EC2R | 4 days in office | Competitive base + commission (OTE 2x base)

Public sector organisations are under real pressure right now — to modernise, build Data and AI capability, and do so without unlimited headcount budgets. This role puts you at the centre of that problem.

My client is a PE-backed tech consultancy—one of the UK's most respected names in technology talent and capability development. The Public Sector is their most established and fastest-growing vertical, built from scratch by the Practice Director who will be your direct line manager.

The proposition has two distinct angles—and that's what makes it genuinely compelling in public-sector conversations. First, they recruit high-calibre graduates from diverse backgrounds, put them through intensive technical bootcamps, and place them as consultants with government departments, defence primes, and agencies on flexible two-year engagements. A strong diversity and social value story comes built in — which matters increasingly in public sector procurement. Second, they work directly with existing client teams to build Data and AI capability through upskilling programmes — giving you a second entry point into every client conversation, and meaning you're never reliant on a client having an open headcount need to get a deal moving.

This is a new business role. You'll be opening relationships across government, agencies, and defence — reading which problem a buyer is trying to solve and positioning the right part of the proposition accordingly.

You don't need to be a Data or AI expert. You need to understand the talent landscape well enough to have a credible conversation with a Head of Technology or Digital Transformation lead about why their capability gap matters — and what good looks like when it comes to solving it.

What we're looking for

  • B2B sales experience with a strong new business track record — 3+ years
  • Public sector experience or a genuine, credible route in government, defence, agencies, or adjacent
  • Enough understanding of Data and AI skills to hold intelligent conversations with technical buyers
  • Comfortable navigating complex, multi-stakeholder procurement environments
  • Entrepreneurial mindset — you come with a plan and own your patch
